Hi, I am a Devops Manager working at a Fintech company's Research and Development unit. It's difficult to describe my job in a few words because as the name suggests, it's RnD, which means it's ever evolving. I am lucky enough to work with cutting edge technology and my main job is to build secure and robust infrastructure that can support a fast pace development environment. Working in such an environment it is important to have critical thinking, ability to pivot quickly, and mostly ability to deal with unknown requirements on a moments notice. I started my career as a computer science graduate who didn't have much guidance when I was starting off, which led to a few wrong choices that delayed my growth by a few years. I unknowingly started my career in a non technical domain and it took me a few years to get back to the technical side.
