For the first 2 years as a Developer, I used to feel superhuman after writing clean, story-like code and having 90%+ test coverage. After my switch to Consulting, I changed my approach from the 'How' to the 'What'. I kept myself busy with the new clouds that Salesforce was introducing. But then, post Covid, something happened. I woke up one day in August 2020 wondering: — "What do I do all day?" — "Life has to be more than building flows and fields". This led to a deeper question of "Why do I do my work?". I didn't have an answer. I resorted to reading and writing. Reading gave me the ability to look at different perspectives - psychology, philosophy and business - and writing allowed me to make sense of what was going on in my head. This led to a definitive mindset change starting January 2021 from the 'What' to the 'Why'. Everything needs to start with the 'Why'. In the Salesforce world, the 'Why' helps you identify the right problem, before you can jump in and solve it.
