Hi, I'm Jon! ✌️ I consider myself a "knowledgeable generalist" in the data space with experience throughout the entire data pipeline, in end-to-end ML development, and with building production-ready data applications. I specialize in natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning, but am now finding myself in the realm of Generative AI and LLMs more and more. I have taught on the entire data pipeline and have guided/consulted on 100s of data science projects ranging from small-scale (<150 KB) to large-scale (>1TB). I have worked with some of the highest rated data education programs in the industry and have helped many people land dream positions at places like LinkedIn, Meta, Google, Apple, Microsoft, IBM, and Spotify. I have 10+ years of applied statistical and data science experience, 7+ years of experience with machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing, and 5+ years of experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud computing. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of approaches including predictive and inferential statistics, regressions, classification, clustering, recommendation systems, and network analyses. I find that for every new project I encounter, I end up learning new methods, new concepts, and new skills — the best part of this field is that you are always learning! I started in data science before it was commonly called data science and have worked in numerous domains throughout the entire data spectrum. With a diverse but developed background, I excel at identifying key areas of improvement, quickly developing and implementing solutions, and understanding holistic data pipelines and processes.
