Throughout my career, I’ve worked with founders, investors, and leadership teams navigating fundraising, expansion, strategic transactions, and business transformation. One pattern became increasingly clear. As businesses grow, legal becomes part of every important decision. Yet for many organisations, legal support remains reactive, brought in after decisions have been made rather than helping shape them. That observation led me to build Team Counsel. Before starting Team Counsel, I spent more than 12 years advising private equity funds, venture-growth investors, multinational corporations, and high-growth businesses. My career began at AZB & Partners and Trilegal, where I worked on high-value mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, cross-border transactions, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings. Later, at Alpha Wave Global, I supported more than 45 venture and growth investments worth over US$12 billion across India, Southeast Asia, and the United States. Across my career, I’ve worked with more than 250 businesses and advised on over 90 transactions representing US$20 billion+ in value across eight global jurisdictions. Today, through Team Counsel, I help startups, scaleups, and enterprises strengthen compliance and governance, modernise legal operations, improve contract management, support strategic transactions, and build legal infrastructure that scales alongside business growth. For me, legal has never been about the paperwork alone. It’s about creating the legal systems that help businesses make better decisions, manage risk with confidence, and build for the long term.
