As a Qualified Medical doctor, I have 13 years experience of bedside clinical and emergency medicine within the South African Healthcare market. I have extensive leadership and management experience honed both from managing teams within the ER as well as having run and managed my own GP practice. I have consulted patients both physically as well as virtually, with extensive virtual consultation experience through working with 2 of the largest remote consultation vendors in the country. I am highly skilled at clinical diagnostics and I deliver patient care with great respect, understanding, empathy, confidence and accuracy. I am extremely detail oriented and strive for perfection. Having gone through burnout personally I advise ER doctors on how to prevent and recover from burnout. I coach doctors on how to pursue alternative careers within healthcare. I really enjoy clinical medicine but after 10 years in the Emergency Room I needed to escalate my career to have more work-life balance and to establish myself as a sought -after Clinical Consultant. From 2021-2022 I completed my MBA (Cum Laude) through USB where I gained academic and scientific writing experience as well as publishing my own article on ADHD in the SAJP. After my MBA in Healthcare leadership I decided to hone my Entrepreneurial skills and established my own company: The Prescription Doctor through which I do clinical consultation work for various clients in the corporate healthcare industry. My most recent work involved working as a strategic Clinical Subject Matter expert and Clinical Business Analyst for Infocare (a SaaS company involved in creating, selling and optimisation of Electronic Health Record software in Ireland). I have extensive work experience on Agile, Scrum methodologies, working with Jira and Atlassian products to develop clinically sound workflows in the EHR IT space. I have experience leading a small team to optimise client requirements and deliver high quality software to optimise patient care. Patient engagement and PROMS measurements are current projects I am involved with. I have a keen interest in how AI is shaping healthcare and I am keen to get involved in AI medical service delivery to streamline, standardise and optimise healthcare service delivery and to make it more accessable for everyone.
