I had a very informative SCM career counseling session. The mentor clearly explained different roles in supply chain, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning. The discussion helped me understand which roles fit my skills and how to build a strong profile as a fresher. I also received practical guidance on improving my resume, developing relevant skills, and choosing certifications that can enhance my career prospects. Overall, the session was helpful, structured, and gave me a clear direction for starting a career in supply chain.

About me

An engineer who stumbled upon supply chain management by chance. Started my career in Customer Service, straight out of engineering. As a mechanical engineer, I was cursing myself for not getting into a "core" field. Gradually, decided to do an MBA after a failed GATE attempt. But before getting into the world of business management, decided to take a plunge into hardcore B2B sales, after getting a taste of sales in my earlier customer service stint. After my sales stint, got into Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management which specializes only in Operations Management. To unlearn and re-learn was the first challenge faced in B-School. Understood a structured approach to problem solving. Coming from a non-IT background, the 2 years at B-School gave a lot of exposure to enterprise grade applications of IT. Post my MBA, decided to grind myself at the shopfloor in the automotive industry in supply chain management. Worked in anything and everything related to supply chain management. Later, I moved to a consulting role, focussed in Technology Consulting in Digital Supply Chain. Reach out to me if you are an early grad or an MBA aspirant who wants to understand the world of supply chain.
