As a software engineer at Microsoft, I work with the 1ES team to develop applications that assist in assessing the accessibility of other applications within MDEE. Our team focuses on creating software solutions that help ensure that all applications developed within Microsoft meet the highest standards of accessibility for users with disabilities. I have contributed to several projects that have improved the user retention rate, user satisfaction, and user feedback of our applications, using C#, React, Azure, and other technologies. I have also participated in the Microsoft Global Hackathon 2022, where I won an award for my innovative and impactful idea. Before joining Microsoft, I was a volunteer leader of the Facebook Developers Circle in Mombasa, where I educated and inspired people in the community about Facebook technologies. I organized events, workshops, and other activities to help members of the community gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience with Facebook technologies, such as React, GraphQL, and Spark AR. Through my efforts, the community grew stronger, and more people were able to connect, share ideas, and explore new opportunities. I also have experience as a Python developer at Page Freezer, where I worked on building a social media archiving tool, and as an associate Python developer at Andela, where I learned from global experts and mentors. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Software Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and I am fluent in English, Swahili, and French. I am passionate about software development, accessibility, and social impact, and I am always eager to learn new skills and technologies.
