Weekly Coaching/Mentorship (30 min)

When I was a fresh Software Engineer I used to think growth happened automatically as I worked on more projects and tasks over time. While there was some growth initially (going from SE1 to SE2), this wouldn't take me to where I wanted to be, at that time, an Engineering Manager.

After getting my promotion to Senior Software Engineer rejected the first time I really took thing more seriously and started to analyze where I was and where I wanted to be. This lead me to tremendous growth not just technically but all round improvements with communication, project management, being efficient and leadership skills to name a few. The growth made me better as an individual and slowly but surely opportunities started to come my way.

So far I've gone through 5 different managers in my career and I've worked across 4 different teams now directly managing 2 teams myself. Sure there was some luck involved in my career so far but most of it I credit to my mindset and taking my career seriously. Honestly you have to pause and reflect if you want to really grow.

I couldn't don't it alone, I had a lot of great mentors along the way and now I hope to be a mentor other hungry Software Developers.
