About me

As a Design & Product leader, Jay has consistently assembled Avengers-level in-house and consulting design teams across enterprise, prosumer, and consumer domains. He has led and mentored these high-performance, high-impact teams to deliver time-critical multi-million dollar projects that delight users like a blockbuster. Jay's previous roles include leading Product Design for Adobe India, for India's celebrated unicorn Flipkart, and playing a key role in the product turnaround for MakeMyTrip, one of the world's largest online travel agencies. Apart from leading projects like the iconic Bengaluru Airport or the ubiquitous Aarogya Setu App. Jay Dutta is the Nick Fury of UX at Deutsche Bank, where he orchestrates the power of user experience design to bring out the best in DB's diverse array of products and platforms. With over 25 years of experience in design, spanning various specializations, domains and geographies (he founded his studio in Manchester UK, apart from working across US, EU, Africa), Jay's expertise cuts across many borders. He is also the founder and curator of DesignUp Conference, the largest and most influential design-in-tech event in India and SE Asia, and a former Asia-Pacific leader for IxDA, the global network of interaction design professionals. Jay has mentored startup founders and design leaders across different stages of their journeys, sharing his insights and experiences at TEDx, Adobe Max, Collision, and other conferences and events. Passionate about rethinking systems, services, behaviors, and relationships through design, Jay aims to make a human impact for India's underserved. Armed with a BFA in communication design from the National Institute of Design, an MSc in design management from the UK, and a fellowship from the Royal Society for Arts, Jay continues to push the boundaries of what's possible while mentoring young aspiring Designers. As a Design & Product leader, Jay has consistently assembled Avengers-level in-house and consulting design teams across enterprise, prosumer, and consumer domains.
