Incorporating creativity, practicing empathy and using imagination in application development and web development has served as a diving board to launch myself into a world of computer science and business. As a developer, you have to consider the perspectives of a variety of different stakeholders within the application which has allowed me to expand on my creative ability and has encouraged me to work outside of my own comfort zone. By bridging the gap between both my passions for computer science and business has allowed me to explore creative ideas that are not often seen without the combination of both fields. One of my recent projects that exercised my more creative side was creating a keypad for my dorm room door using an arduino board and a stepper motor. One of the less obvious highlights of this project was the attention me and my roommates received from students all around campus who heard about this keypad. Soon Tiktok's were created about our keypad and one Tiktok went viral within a matter of hours garnering over 17 thousand likes and some pretty funny comments along the way. Although some may think that the field of computer science does not require creativity, I see computer science as a way of incorporating innovation into technology development leading to growth and progress in a dynamic world.
