What I try to cover overall is:

1. Understand how could a portfolio be created
2. What should it cover
3. Get at least a couple of examples.

The First call usually covers:

1. Understand Your background [30min]
2. Understand What all have You attempted so far [10min]
3. Provide You with Ideas on what can you start doing as the first step [20 min]

Covered in subsequent calls:

1. Gaining momentum on LinkedIn (Popularity)
2. Be a person showcasing Your Skills and readiness to the world by ProActively showcasing your strengths (rather than waiting for recruiters to provide you with JD and responding, etc.).
