About me
I have always been a tech nerd or some might just call me a nerd (good with that too).
My love of technology sent me to Auburn to enjoy watching the best football team in the land and graduate with a degree in Management Information Systems. I began my professional career in the peak of the first technology boom as a C++ programmer working on NCR's Advanced Checkout System.
I went to law school solely because I loved John Grisham novels. I loved law school, but it turns out practicing law is far from a Grisham novel. Although I never became Mitch McDeere or Jake Brigance, I am very thankful that my career as a tech transactions attorney made me start to look at Data Privacy issues in 2012.
While I enjoyed looking at privacy from a pure legal lens, I really became fascinated with the operational/technical side of Privacy. I sharpened my tech skills by learning Python and JavaScript (attended 750 hour software engineering fellowship).
Switching to the technical side of Privacy has been one of the best decisions in my life (obviously behind marrying my wonderful wife).
Currently, I am a Privacy Engineer at Twitter. I am on the FlightWatch team responsible for Technical Privacy Reviews, Privacy Investigations, Anonymization and Deidentification consultations, and many other privacy related tasks.
Life is all about solving challenging problems. Data Privacy brings no shortages of challenges. The changing landscape of privacy makes life fun. You never know what to expect on a day to day basis which appeals to the lifelong learner in me.
