20 minutes about the system you didn’t build with Janvi Umendra

A 20-minute call for engineering leads, consultants and PMs working on software someone else built: inherited codebases, half-documented systems, migrations where nobody fully trusts the docs.

I’ll ask three questions and listen:

Which part of your system does only one person understand?

When did you last get stuck because nobody could explain how something works?

What’s the change you’ve been putting off because you’re not sure what it touches?

I lead product and GTM at Scophix, where we record how software is actually used and trace it to the code. Before that I was an SDE at Amazon, which is where I first spent two weeks figuring out why a service did something nobody could explain.
