I was a "core" finance grad as the recruiters called me during placement season at IIM A - and I was! I built a strong finance trajectory - Investing for 5 years at Goldman Sachs - managing ~$20bn in assets, cleared all 3 levels of CFA in the top percentile bucket. But then as I designed and work with data teams to make my research work at GS easier, I realized my true potential was in fintech product. As I made my planned and intentional switch into Fintech product - I can write a book on how to do it honestly! I am now working at Franklin Templeton since the last 5 years - and have exposure to every kind of product work imaginable - B2B, B2C, roadmapping, client communication, solutioning, strategy, prototyping, and most importantly handling stakeholders and "claiming the narrative" before someone else does! I am building a credit card optimizer product with AI as a side project to get my hands dirty with LLM, RAG and vector DBs. And I would love to share my learnings on that - how to get started with AI - filter the noise and learn the stuff that matters.
