👋🏽 Hello everyone! My name is Janae Anderson and I am a VR Software Developer currently working at Lockheed Martin Space in the CHIL (Collaborative Human Immersive Laboratory).
👩🏽🎓 I am a Spring ‘23 graduate from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelor in Information Technology, a specialization in Game Development, and a minor in Computer Science.
👩🏽💻 My love for coding began in middle school by teaching myself HTML and CSS to build websites in my free time. In high school I saw a VR headset for the first time and watched as someone demoed a 3D drawing simulation and I’ve been hooked ever since! What I enjoy most about VR is with the XR industry exponentially growing there is always something new to learn, someone new to meet, and something to look forward to.
🗣️ Now I want to use my experiences to inspire and mentor the younger generation. I believe in instilling confidence in them, helping them navigate the complexities of choosing a career path, and empowering them to mark their unique journey. Through mentorship, I aim to provide guidance, support, and encouragement as they explore their interests, discover their strengths, and overcome challenges. By sharing my own experiences, offering valuable insights, and fostering a nurturing environment, I aspire to inspire and equip them with the tools they need to succeed and thrive in their chosen fields. Together, we can break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create a brighter future where diversity is celebrated and opportunities are accessible to all!
