I am Ira, a public policy practitioner and social impact entrepreneur with about 7 years of experience in the international development space. My journey in the development space involves managing multi-sectoral projects spanning across 20+ Asian and African economies. I have worked with several government bodies, international development entities, donor agencies, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSRs) of multinational companies, and non-profit organizations on projects across a myriad of sectors including education, child protection, agriculture and rural livelihoods, skill development, and urban governance. I currently work as the Program Officer at PAL Network, a Global South Network of 17 member organizations across Asia, Africa and Latin America, working collaboratively towards improving Foundational Learning for children. At PAL, I lead end-to-end program design and implementation of strategic education programs to address the learning crisis in the Global South. Previously, I have worked in public and social sector advisory verticals of premier consulting firms including Ernst & Young (EY), Grant Thornton and Athena Infonomics. Some of my noteworthy clients include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UNICEF, UNDP, ADB, World Bank, Government of India, among others. I also have the experience of working on policy assignments with BJP's National Vice President Mr. Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda’s Office. Drawing from these diverse experiences, I founded an impact consulting firm with the mission to provide technical research support to grassroots organizations in the social impact space. As a researcher, I have supported research projects for Shiv Visvanathan (an eminent social scientist), the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), and the Karnal District Gazetteer. I have published several research publications and thought leadership reports on issues ranging from organic agriculture to Foundational Learning. I have served as a Thought for Food Fellow from India. Additionally, I have been designated as an expert for Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) to evaluate start-up proposals for a-IDEA, a technology and business incubator.
