Breaking into Data Engineering

Like many students, I dreamed of becoming a Software Engineer during college. However, my journey took a different path, and I started my career as a Data Engineer. Looking back, I realized there wasn't and even today, there still isn't a single, well-structured roadmap that clearly explains what to learn, where to learn it, how to build the right skills, and how to prepare for Data Engineering interviews.

One of the best ways to learn is by connecting with people already in the field. But when you're just starting out, it's often difficult to know whom to approach, what questions to ask, or which advice is truly relevant to your goals. I faced the same challenges.

This guide is my attempt to bridge that gap. It's built from my own experiences, lessons, and mistakes, along with the resources and strategies that helped me grow. My goal is to give you a practical roadmap, reduce the confusion, and help you become more confident as you build your career in and beyond Data Engineering.
