UC Berkeley MPP Essays (3) with Ishaan Sethi

extremely insightful session - all my questions were perfectly answered!

Ishan is articulated and his pointed conversation helped me visualize my application journey in small doable steps.

I recently spoke to Ishaan about my profile evaluation and program shortlisting. From start to finish, he has meticulously designed to process to ensure that he has a detailed understanding of the applicant's background and interests. He devoted great effort in understanding my profile and suggested programs that best align with my goals. Further, his extensive experience in the field clearly shows through his recommendations for improvements in my profile. I would highly recommend anyone considering applying for masters programs to speak to him to craft a clear plan for successful applications.

Ishaan helped me to gain clarity on my next steps. He patiently heard the multiple things running in my mind, made sense of them, understood my current constraints, empathized with my dreams, and gave me an outline to achieve them. I felt confident in his words, given that he has walked a similar path and knows how to get to the other side. I define Ishaan as patient, experienced, warm, empathetic, non-judgmental, and supportive.

I appreciated how he asked me to submit my resume and goals beforehand. When we started the call, he was already familiar with my background, allowing us to discuss my concerns immediately. I struggled to connect my long-term and short-term goals and determine my next steps, but Ishaan helped me clarify everything. He assisted me in creating a plan that aligned with my timeline urgencies.
