Hi, I’m Himanshu Mishra, a Software Engineer at Amazon. My journey into tech wasn’t a straightforward one. I come from a tier-3 college and had 3 backlogs during college. I started my career at CodeChef, later worked at a startup and TCS, and eventually made my way to Amazon. Along the way, competitive programming played a huge role in my growth. I qualified for ICPC Regionals with an AIR 35 finish and became an Expert on Codeforces. I’ve solved 3000+ problems across platforms including Codeforces, LeetCode, HackerRank, HackerEarth, CodeChef, AtCoder and CSES. I’ve also taught and mentored students preparing for placements at different universities, helping them improve their problem-solving, DSA, competitive programming and interview skills. I know how confusing and overwhelming the journey can feel — especially when you don't come from a top college or have a perfect academic record. I’ve been through that phase myself. Through my Topmate sessions, I want to help you build a practical roadmap based on where you are right now — whether you're a college student preparing for placements, a working professional trying to switch jobs, or someone trying to improve their DSA and problem-solving skills. You don't need to have a perfect background to build a great career in tech. You need the right direction, consistent effort, and someone who can help you avoid the mistakes along the way.
