Although my first post-university employment had nothing to do with either finance or analysis, it did give me the courage to say what I thought. After that, I had the opportunity to work in a number of different businesses and fields, including IT (information technology), insurance (insurance), and banking (banking), and for a number of different firms, including IBM, EXL, Barclays, and one of the top 50 Chartered Accountancy firm. I was formerly employed by Barclays, but the entrepreneurial spirit compelled me to forgo the security of a six-figure salary in favour of striking out on my own. Earlier in my career, before joining Fundvice, I founded a recruitment consultancy and had the opportunity to deal with a wide range of companies, from startups to well-established institutions like Genpact, Convergys, the British Council, IDFC bank, and Swiggy. When I decided to put my interest in business management to use, I found a great opportunity in the investment banking profession. I have handled everything required, from developing a business plan to securing necessary funding. Before launching Fundvice, I worked as a consultant, assisting businesses with strategic planning, marketing-branding, recruitment, and management. This allowed me to raise INR 16cr (USD 2.2 million) before I thought of floating Fundvice as a company. In order to get Fundvice where it is now, we had to put in a lot of hard work for around a year and a half. As the founder of Fundvice, I have had a fantastic journey from working with seed funding startups (USD 10k) to working with multimillion-dollar agreements (ticket sizes of up to USD 47million). As hustlers, we believe that every entrepreneur needs to be open to learning new things, practising self-discipline, facing failure, and modifying their strategy as needed.
