What Happens in Hypnotherapy?

In hypnotherapy, the counselor helps the client enter a calm and deeply relaxed state of mind. This state allows the client to focus inward while remaining fully aware and in control.

As a counselor, you:

  1. Guide the client into relaxation using calming techniques
  2. Help them focus their attention and reduce mental distractions
  3. Explore thoughts, emotions, and beliefs stored at a deeper level
  4. Use therapeutic suggestions to support positive change
  5. Help reframe unhelpful patterns and emotional responses
  6. Gradually bring the client back to full awareness

Hypnotherapy is a gentle and collaborative process. The client does not lose control or consciousness. The counselor acts as a guide, helping the client access inner resources, gain insight, and support emotional healing and behavioral change.
