Hello! I am Harsh Bansal, I am working as a Software Development Engineer 2 at Microsoft. I am also a free lancer mentor on other platforms like Scaler, preplaced, Coding Ninjas. Being from a Tier-3 college, I didn’t receive much opportunities through campus placements. But, after 1 years of working at CTS, I was able to grab offers from different product based companies. In December 2020 I cracked Microsoft. It was not easy to crack Microsoft without guidance. I had to face a lot of hurdles during my transition from a service based to a product-based company to a Tech Giant like Microsoft. I wish, I had someone to mentor me and guide me throughout the process, which could have saved my transition time. I was alone in my journey but it doesn’t mean you too have to. I can guide you throughout your preparation phase. Trust me when I tell you this I know the exact recipe to crack the coding interview rounds of top companies for the SDE role. Till date I have mentored more than 50 candidates and many of them got placed in companies like Microsoft, Qualcomm, Techmojo, xceedence etc. I can give my mentee the benefit of my perspectives and experiences. I can help him/her assimilate to a new position and give an insider’s view on how to get things done effectively. I would help my mentee to explore new career path and to ensure he/she don’t lose focus, continue down that road even when he/she is distracted by day-to-day pressures and define their career goals. I will help my mentee to reach his/her full potential in his/her current or future jobs and promote their personal and professional development, which could be achieved by a good mentoring in a strategic and supportive way. I desire to help my mentee develop employee skills from this program that will remain valuable beyond the duration of this mentoring partnership. It will provide a direct opportunity for knowledge sharing - enhancing and tapping into corporate knowledge. With the help of a good mentor, he/she can work more efficiently with a clearer view of the future he or she is trying to achieve. This will help him/her feel more confident , which will lead to a better performance and more success along the chosen road. Few things that I would track on day to day basis are following: Create a customized Interview Preparation plan/curriculum based on candidates current skill set and goals Track the progress and speed as per the curriculum. Track number of problems solved, active participation in coding competition etc. Find out areas of improvements. Conduct mock interviews to check the knowledge on a particular topics. Checking on emotional and mental well being. Clarify any doubts regarding corporate cultures. Teach them how to build healthy relationships in corporate world. Help them by providing them referral.
