My mission is to impact people around me through learning and challenging the status quo. I am a consultant, academic, and facilitator from Mauritius with 30+ years of experience in training and development. I hold a Ph.D. in Management from Wits Business School (WBS), South Africa, and an MSc from Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, UK. In Mauritius, I have contributed to various initiatives: In the late 90s, I was a member of the Committee for the National IT Strategy Plan (NITSP) and was Chairperson of the IT Standards Committee. In 2014, I was a member of the Distance Education Coordination Committee under the aegis of the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC). I was a Board Member of the Mauritius Qualification Authority (MQA) from its creation in 2003 to 2011. An accredited Master Trainer with British Council on Core Skills (21st Century Skills), School Leadership, and Inclusive Education, I have been a former representative of Dale Carnegie Training in Mauritius from 1999 to 2003 and became a Certified Dale Carnegie® Instructor. Later, I joined Leadership Management® International (LMI) as a Master Licensee for Mauritius and Africa region for ten years and became a Certified LMI® Facilitator. I am a leading player in soft skills training for management positions and grass-root leaders in the African region via my association as a consultant with British Council since 2004 and through my consulting work. My clients group includes famous brands like Thomas Cook (Mauritius Office), Glaxo-SmithKline (Mauritius Office), MTN (Rwanda), Rwanda Revenue Authority, Ceridian (a global human capital management (HCM) software company), Outre-Mer Telecom (Mauritius Office) and Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (Rwanda), British Council, & Civil Service College, Mauritius. During my career, I have received numerous accolades for my commitment to excellence and a sense of achievement. I won the Second Prize at the University of Witwatersrand (WITS) Cross-Faculty Graduate Symposium 2013 for the best presentation paper based on my Ph.D. research. I was a Mauritius Qualifications Authority Board Member from 2003 to 2011. I am also a Fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Directors (F. MIoD). I have been inducted into the African Leadership Magazine's CEOs Hall of Fame 2020 and conferred with the African Business Excellence Award during the African Leadership Magazine's Persons of the Year in February 2020. I am a full-time Professor (Leadership and Management) at Georgian College, Barrie, Canada.
