Statement of Purpose: Fellowships and Grants

I have received the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Fellowship for the 2022-2023 cohort in Visual Arts/Film Studies for my research in Tamil cinema studies. I can take a look at your written documents/SoPs and suggest possible changes for structural coherence and consistency. Further, I position myself as a "reader" in this academic engagement who attempts to understand your thought patterns behind the process of self-narrativization—which is so central to SOPs—and discover whether it is done affectively/effectively. So, my role as a reader will solely rely on your writing to take me through that story—both intellectual and personal—and subsequently, I will suggest ways to improve it.
