About me
Hi there! I'm Gaurav Sarraf, a cybersecurity student passionate about security engineering, research, and space exploration. Currently pursuing my master's degree in Cybersecurity at Syracuse University, I am eager to find an opportunity to enhance my expertise in penetration testing, secure system design, and security consultancy.
During my academic journey, I have gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in various areas of cybersecurity. My coursework has equipped me with network security, information security, system safety, cryptography, and algorithm design skills. Additionally, I am actively studying for CKA and CKS certifications to expand my cloud-native skills.
In terms of practical experience, I have worked as a Security Engineer at Lumen Technologies, where I had the opportunity to deploy custom fine-tuned language models for enhanced threat intelligence from Lumen Black Lotus Labs. I also focused on CPE device testing automation, network security implementation, Linux system administration, and other automation efforts.
I also worked as a SOC Analyst at Syracuse University, working with multiple vulnerability management solutions, especially in the automation of reports and tracking systems. I had the opportunity to manually test systems and write automation scripts in Python and Bash to achieve efficiency gains. Finally, I assisted the team with Microsoft Defender for cloud alerts, devising multiple scripts to reduce false positives.
Apart from my academic pursuits and professional experiences, I am also proud to have co-founded ThinkRobotics, where we help companies reach millions of consumers with groundbreaking products.
If you are looking for a dedicated Security Engineer with a strong foundation in cybersecurity principles and practical experience in various field domains, let's connect!
