I am Gaurav Garg, currently working at Amazon and received my Master’s Degree in Computer Science engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. I worked on 5G networks as part of my thesis titled “ On Delay-Aware Network Function Selection in Next Generation Networks”. Along with networking, I took up various courses during my post-graduation, from Data Mining to Distributed Computing. Lately, I’ve grown to develop an interest in the field of deep learning and specifically, its application to computer vision. In particular, I am interested in application of any field in real-life problems, ranging from Automated Driving Systems to Medical Imaging. I have also spent time working on parallelizing computationally expensive algorithms to make them time- and space-efficient and make them work on CPUs and GPUs. Later, these functions were released as part of the Multi-Release Plan for MATLAB versions. During the end-to-end development of these functions, I was involved in Requirement analysis, Functional Design, Architecture Design, Implementation and Integration. So, I have an experience of working solely at any product (from design to release) as well as working with teams.
