The mentoring session was very insightful. All the questions were answered to the level of satisfaction. Improvement points were highlighted along with the solution. Gaurav also explained what to be expect in a year or two if the solutions are followed. I highly recommend Gaurav's mentoring session for fellow chess players.

About me

I’m a Candidate Master and professional chess coach with over 15 years of experience as a player and trainer. I’ve trained 100+ students across India and internationally, including players from the USA, UK, Europe, and the Middle East. My primary focus is chess coaching, especially helping students who struggle to translate preparation into tournament performance. Alongside chess, I’m a trainee psychologist. While I currently don’t offer therapy, this training allows me to guide students through mindset work, self-awareness, and motivation. In practice, this means understanding how pressure, confidence, emotional reactions, and thinking patterns affect decisions during games. My coaching is structured and practical. We work on chess fundamentals, game analysis, and tournament preparation, while also addressing how you think at the board, handle mistakes, and respond under stress. I work best with students who are serious about improvement and willing to look honestly at both their chess and their patterns as a player. The goal is simple: clearer thinking, stronger decisions, and steady progress over time.
