I have spent 22+ years in data protection, including 12+ years in Product Management leadership, working across the full technology lifecycle from engineering through product strategy and go-to-market. A significant part of that work sat directly at the intersection of security and data protection, not adjacent to it: designing security-first integrations such as AV scanning before and after backup, and developing a ransomware-resilience strategy. Over the past year and a half, that has extended into hands-on R&D on post-exfiltration data usability and inference-attack surface analysis. I have worked directly with customers and partners, including OEMs and MSPs, giving me a view of what actually breaks, what businesses will pay for, and where security strategies fall short in practice.
