"Grit - that is what it is all about, you know, having the courage and determination to keep on going forward despite innumerable obstacles, challenges and roadblocks - practically never giving up!". I still remember these words of my English Teacher, and over the years, my personality has been shaped around the same. I am Escandita Tewari, a highly motivated and hardworking student, currently pursuing a dual degree undergraduate from NALSAR University, Hyderabad and IIT-Madras. I have always been deeply interested in the formulation and functioning of the governing policy framework. Lately, having studied the role and relevance of data-driven research and policies, I have been trying to understand the intricacies of the two fields while placing them at par with each other. Create - Capture - Code. These three words speak a lot about my non-academic interests. Previously I led the Design and Creatives at the in-house student-run venture, OutsightX. Apart from that, I am also a travel blogger and content writer. I wrote my first book at 19, an anthology about the critical influences on life. Currently, apart from my freelance pursuits, I have been working as a Narrator and Story Writer at India Lost and Found by Amit Pasricha in an attempt to restore and work towards preserving our cultural heritage. I have also been actively involved in raising my voice and awareness about key issues that have always caught my attention. I was selected as one of the 15 individuals from all across India in the YLAC YAT Fellowship in an attempt to spread awareness about Tobacco consumption in India, where I worked along with CPAA. For the areas involving Mental Health and Women In STEM, I have also been associated with Girl Up, United Nations as a Youth Leader and WomenTech Network as a Global Ambassador. I am also a coder and have been studying the intricacies of CSS, HTML & Python for quite some time now. Whether creating a FIGJAM file, a Notion project, core academics or a long midnight VSC coding session, I am always driven by this innate passion and determination to work on my deliverables. I enjoy the journey. Whether it be managing and leading teams or collaborating with peers, I have always been an asset to the group of people I work with and learn from my everyday behaviour, making sure the end goal is achieved! On a lighter note, I am a massive QUEEN fan, a stereoscopy enthusiast, usually found in tune with my AirPods plugged in, a book in hand and a cup of coffee by my side!
