From Idea to First GA

This session is designed for owners and investors who have a yacht idea in mind but struggle to translate it into a clear, workable layout.

The goal of this walkthrough is to bridge the gap between a concept in your head and a first General Arrangement (GA) that actually makes sense from a design, operational, and practical standpoint.

During the session, we will work through:

1. Your intended use case (private, charter, support, expedition, training, etc.)
2. Key spaces you need on board and how they typically relate to each other
3. Practical constraints that influence layout decisions (size, regulations, crew, systems)
4. Typical layout mistakes made at early stages and how to avoid them
5. How designers and shipyards usually interpret owner ideas into GA drawings

Rather than drawing a GA live, the focus is on teaching you how to think like a designer when reviewing or requesting a layout. This allows you to communicate more clearly with naval architects, designers, and shipyards, and to recognize whether a proposed GA is realistic or problematic.

By the end of the session, you should have:

2. Better understanding of spatial priorities and trade-offs
3. The ability to brief a designer more effectively
