In my capacity as a volunteer for professional organizations, I am able to assist and mentor hundreds of students and professionals by either recruiting amazing subject matter experts and organizing events or by being a mentor for mentoring groups. Here in this platform I am creating space for 1 on 1 career conversations, mentoring sessions and more, especially focused in the Career of Machine learning, Data Science and AI. Lessons Working as a Machine Learning Scientist: The easiest part about managing a machine Learning project is the model building , much is required to created aligned for stakeholders, curated a quality dataset, quantify the impact of your machine learning model, explain finding to business executives and continuously monitoring model performance when in production. The hardest part about being a machine learning scientist is managing your required continuous skill growth. Lessons Working a Cloud Instructor: During my first year in Industry I was training for and teaching Architecting on AWS as an AWS Instructor. My classes had an average of 30 students each composed of professionals spanning different tenures and professions. From this experience I learned that a technologist with one year experience can teach an engineer with 13 years tenure under their belt, or a CEO of a small organization.
