As a Research Scientist B at the ICMR DHR – Multidisciplinary Research Unit, Department of Anatomy, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, I have gained valuable experience and expertise in the field of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics. With a strong dedication to my work and a diligent approach, I have been an integral part of the Covid-19 Diagnosis and research team, making significant contributions to the field. One of my notable achievements includes receiving BSL2 training for COVID-19 testing, enabling me to actively contribute to the testing and diagnosis of the disease. Over the course of two years, I have been extensively involved in performing Whole-genome sequencing using nanopore technology such as MinION/GridION Oxford Nanopore and Illumina MiSeq. Additionally, I have been responsible for conducting RT-PCRs and viral RNA extraction. Through these experiences, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the various laboratory instruments involved in these processes, as well as troubleshooting techniques. My research work has been primarily focused on the genetics basis of infertility in females due to endometriosis. This clinically driven investigation involved laparoscopic examinations and questionnaire-based surveys to record patients' lifestyle, habits, and familial history. I have conducted molecular genetics investigations to study different genes associated with endometriosis in both familial and sporadic cases. By understanding the genetic and epigenetic pathways involved in the progression of endometriosis, I have successfully validated different biomarkers for the diagnosis of the condition. Notably, I have explored the transition from hormonal to endometrial cyst form to effectively examine, classify, and treat patients, ultimately aiming to prevent the disease from becoming more severe. Throughout these studies, I have utilized various molecular biology techniques such as rt-PCR, Exome sequencing, and Sanger sequencing. Fluorogenic probes specific to target genes have been employed to detect particular genes involved in the disease, and epigenetic studies have involved calculating copy numbers and analyzing relative gene expression levels. Additionally, I have utilized RNA seq GEO dataset analysis to predict potential lncRNAs as biomarkers for endometriosis.
