Dr Veronica Broomes is a top-rated sustainability expert with 20+ years working on sustainability matters, from sustainable development through to ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) and with Founders, their senior managers and team leaders. With 6000+ contacts across social media, including 4000+ on LinkedIn only, she has worked on projects funded by international and national organisations and the private sector, including United Nations Agencies, the European Union and UK local authority. Veronica's passion lies in teaching individuals and teams about sustainability and how they can leverage it to create new revenue stream, improve efficiencies in processes, promote innovation and reduce costs of marketing and recruitment. Using her super skills to simplify complex matters to increase awareness and deepen understanding about sustainability among decision makers in small and medium businesses, she helps them avoid paying for 'over-engineered accreditations. This means in integrating sustainability to strengthen capability and business skills, more procurement contracts are retained, new ones secured and the smaller businesses help corporations to strengthen resilience in their supply chain and to do so affordably, without it costing the earth. Through online training seminars, workshops, an innovative sustainability audit portal and digital sustainability calendars for educational solutions. She covers a range of topics including: unlocking sustainability for business benefits, the myths and facts about sustainability and business and leveraging sustainability for positive business impact and to boost competitiveness. Before starting her first company over 20 years ago, Veronica worked as a senior Research Scientist in agricultural research, specialising in plant tissue culture and germplasm storage. As an Impact Assessment practitioner (environmental and social), she worked at the interface of business, consulting and research. Dr Broomes coordinated the launch of the online Sustainability Summit for small and medium businesses and has hosted the Sheffield's Hidden Gems podcast since 2021. Veronica is a guest on many podcasts and livestream programme such as USA Global T and World of Ability. She received her PhD from the University of Sheffield, Masters of Law (LLM) degree from The Open University and currently resides in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in the UK.
