I’m Divyanshu, originally from Haryana, India, and now based in Dublin, Ireland. My journey has taken me from a degree in Mechanical Engineering to a Master’s in Renewable Energy, and eventually to a PhD at University College Dublin, where I explored how data and AI can transform building energy modeling and sustainability. I’ve always been driven by curiosity and resilience. Moving abroad for my PhD, I experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating research in a new environment—feeling stuck, doubting progress, and struggling with clarity at times. But those struggles shaped me. They taught me the importance of persistence, structure, and having the right mentor at the right time. Today, as a senior energy researcher and award-winning energy systems scientist (CIBSE Young Modeller Award, NSAI Standards Innovation Award), I use my expertise in data analysis, AI, and sustainability to not only advance research but also to support PhD scholars who feel stuck and need clear, actionable guidance.
