I'm currently working as a Strategic Designer at BCG X. I help organizations discover unmet consumer needs and build disruptive ventures. I’ve completed my Masters in Design at IIT Delhi specializing in the field of Strategic Design Management, User Experience, System Design and Research. As soon as I got admission into IIT Delhi, I started creating content on YouTube on topics like Design Entrance Exams, (CEED, UCEED, NID), Portfolio and Interview Preparation and more about the field of Design. In the last three years, I have mentored over 2500+ design aspirants in the country and helped them get into their Dream Design Institutes all over India. I founded The Dream Team in 2021, and to date we have over 200+ admissions in IITs and NIDs for Masters and Bachelors both. Everything for FREE. I secured an AIR 9 / 355 in my CEED entrance, and an AIR 2 in my NID entrance in my categor.. I've also been a recipient of the "40 Under 40 Indian Achievers Award", as well as the "Global Top 50 Tech Innovators" conferred at Dubai in 2019. After 3 years on Youtube, I found a huge gap. 🙆‍♂️ I’ve been doing live group sessions for CEED, NID, building portfolios and cracking interviews for 3 years now. I’ve also created so many videos on explaining my experience, the process, tips & tricks and so much more that can help a potential design aspirant. But there has always been something missing.🧐 This year, I realized what it is. Throughout the sessions, I identified few really pressing pain points. ❌ Most of the discussions we have are extremely generalized, focusing more on the exam, not on the student. ❌ Only some students gets to ask a question, given that around 100-150 aspirants join each session that goes on for about 2 hours. ❌ The students who get to ask a question have multiple follow up questions, but in the interest of time, I have to cut it short. ❌ Eventually per aspirant, I can spend only 4-7 minutes on average which makes the discussion shallow, and sometimes I lack complete context. ❌ Recorded videos are helpful, but again the student has multiple questions that remain unanswered. After a lot of thought and analysis, I came to a conclusion. The missing gap, is personalization.🙇‍♂️ The answer, is personalised 1:1 sessions.✅ I realized students are not getting personalized feedback, hence the discussions are not rich enough. I realized, I need to go in-depth with every aspirant. Understanding someone’s background, getting to know them better and then discussing their concerns actually turns out to be really fruitful. Especially for things like building a design portfolio or preparing for an interview. This year, 2024, let’s go personal. Let’s deep dive into each design aspirant and facilitate better informed career paths.
