As a part of my Masters, I have complete 4 full semester term, internships where I was trained. During the first sem of this program, as a part of our in-house training, we were given extensive training over a period of 2.5 months through a total of 39 8-hour long session by professionals ranging from clinical psychologist, counselling psychologist, experts of CBT, REBT, Team-CBT, Art Therapy, Indian Psychology, Positive Psychology, Assessment techniques and tests, Basic Rapport Building and course of Therapy session and many more. This training module of 39 sessions was accompanied by weekly supervision session by our professors and assignment of basis on practical application of the skills taught. These sessions were the basic training for the next 3 semester internships. For 2nd Semester Internship, I was places at Riddhi Hospital, Vadodara, Under the supervision of Psychiatrist Dr. Gautam S. Amin and Associate Clinical Psychologist Ms. Divya Gianchandani. I got an exposure with patients with severe clinical disorders ranging from MDD, PDD, Schizophrenia spectrum Disorders, Psychosomatic disorders, Substance use disorder (Alcohol, Marijuana, Smak, Heroine, cocain). Here I was able to work on my ability to take detailed Case history and MSE from clinical patients for the Aid of our supervisors and Case formulation and provisional diagnosis. For my 3rd Semester Internship, I was placed at Department of Psychiatry, G.M.E.R.S. Medical College and Hospital, Vadodara under the supervision of Psychiatrist HOD Dr. Sandeep Shah and associate professor Dr. Nimisha Desai and Assistant Professor Dr. Saurabh shah. Here we were able to take therapy sessions for Clinical patients on weekly basis with the resourceful guidance of our professor Dr. B.S. Parimal and HOD at Department of Psychology at MSU. Here, I as a therapist was able to provide 76 session in a period of 6 months. In the final semester of my Master’s, I was placed at Prayaas Counselling Center, an initiative from the Department of Psychology, MSU, Vadodara. Here I was trained under the direct supervision of RCI Licensed Rehabilitation Psychologist Mr. Ashish Varghese and Clinical Psychologist Ms. Mansi Jadeja. As a part of my job, I was able to take 15 sessions of 4 clients in a period of 3 months. 2 of the 3 clients were child clients referred to the center for assessment(VSMS, DST, BKT, DPCL, SLD, GATB, SHI, EPPS, Interest test for career counselling). We Were also provided extensive training of various assessments and analysis and report writing for assessment and therapy clients.
