About me
I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Biology, University of Fribourg, Switzerland, specializing in plant biology. My academic journey includes earning a PhD in Botany from Bose Institute , India, as well as an MSc in Botany from Presidency University, Kolkata, India.
My research passion lies in enhancing crop production and bolstering disease resistance through molecular breeding. Throughout my academic journey, I have been honored with various scholarships and awards, such as the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Post Doctoral Fellowship, Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship, French Research Residency, and the Newton-Bhabha PhD Placement Programme from the British Council, UK.
I actively contribute to scientific discourse through conference participation and presentations, with a specific focus on fungal disease resistance in sesame and molecular breeding of the crop.
Beyond research, I am committed to education, having taught at the BSc and MSc degree program levels. Additionally, I offer training and mentorship to secure international fellowship and funding for the fellow researchers in my field. As part of my commitment to advancing knowledge, I serve as a peer reviewer for esteemed journals published by Elsevier and Springer.
