Dr. Deb Sengupta is an academic with 24 years of higher education experience and presently works with University of Portsmouth, London, United Kingdom. His research interests intersects generational research, engagement, and social psychology. In short, his research aims to create a better understanding of the attitudes, mindsets, and behaviour of younger generations to explore their engagement in various contexts including, but not limited to organizational (employees, students), market (Consumer), entrepreneurial, and Social (volunteer) contexts. His research on volunteering motivations of young women in Bahrain volunteering during Covid-19 received the Best Research Project of the year award for the year 2022-23 in the Kingdom of Bahrain at the Global Higher Education Awards. His book on millennials ‘The Life of Y’ previously won First Prize at the DMT-NTPC Business Book awards for the year 2018-19. Deb holds Harvard Higher Education Teaching Certification and has taught students from India, GCC region, Europe, Americas, Africa and Far East. His experience in higher education teaching spans more than two decades, during which he had the opportunity to serve in various academic leadership positions, engaging with students, academic community, regulators and reputed accreditation agencies such as AACSB. His knowledge exchange and research impact initiatives have seen him collaborating with companies in India (multiple), Dubai (Mashreq Bank and Oman Insurance) and United Kingdom (Future of Earth) and help them to build leadership capabilities and strategize better to engage the millennial workers.
