My cybersecurity journey began in high school when curiosity led me to find a critical flaw in Apple’s systems that exposed their /etc/passwd file back in 2015. Everything I knew then came from YouTube tutorials, online blogs, and countless late-night experiments. I had no mentor or formal training, just a deep curiosity for how systems worked. That discovery sparked my passion for bug bounty hunting and opened the door to cybersecurity. During university, I continued learning cybersecurity on my own while studying computer science. The road was not easy. I faced hundreds of rejections, couldn’t make it past ATS screenings, and struggled with visa challenges that limited international opportunities. Still, I kept learning, refining my skills, and improving every application. I had a desire to work in big tech and become the best security engineer who would protect the whole world. But that dream felt like it was coming to an end. Still, I worked even harder and eventually figured out exactly what top tech companies look for in security engineers. That breakthrough changed everything. I went on to land opportunities with Google, Meta, Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft. Today I work at Google in Australia and have mentored more than 500 professionals through talks and one-on-one sessions. I come from an ordinary university and took the hardest path to reach Google, which is why I understand the struggles and how to turn them into success.
