About me
"How long can I sustain this?" "Am I doing enough?" "Am I focusing on the right things?"
Everyday, I coach brilliant, accomplished leaders and professionals asking some version of these questions. They're often overwhelmed, worried about burnout, and experiencing self-doubt. If you can relate, you probably know what you need to do in order to show up better for your teams and your families:
- Prioritize sleep, exercise, and nutrition
- Set clear boundaries and say "no" more often
- Make time for what's important, not just what's urgent
- Speak up in meeting to share your valuable ideas
- Disconnect from work to be present with your loved ones
And yet, when feeling pressured, these things are the first to go out the window. You eat lunch at your desk, can't remember the last time you exercised or slept well, and your patience is often running low. The worst part? People who you care most about - your kids, friends, and family - bear the brunt. Appalled, your self-talk turns negative:
- I am not disciplined enough
- Everyone else seems to be doing so much better
- I don't know what I am doing
- I am a bad parent
- What's wrong with me?
Blaming yourself leads to even more overwhelm, burnout, and self-doubt. It's a nasty cycle.
But what if it's not your fault?
What if you don't need more discipline, but a gentler, more sustainable way to move through life?
That's where I come in.
I have been in your shoes. I know EXACTLY what it is like to feel like you're drowning, like even one small addition to the list of things you need to do will break you.
Over the past 12+ years though, I have also learned that it doesn't have to be this way. Even when we live within systems not designed for our wellbeing, we have the power to take charge of our happiness at work (and in life.) And we don't have to do this through willpower alone. There are gentler, more sustainable ways to truly thrive.
Taking people through this process is what I do best as a coach. If you want to learn more, feel free to send me a DM.
In addition to personal experience, here are my professional qualifications:
I have spent 15+ years in a variety of people development roles across corporations, non-profits, and academia. I have a Master of Applied Positive Psychology, an MBA in Human Resource Management, and ICF (PCC) coaching certifications. I am also certified in Leadership Circle Profile 360 Assessments and am working towards a Certificate in Conflict Resolution. More here: yashisrivastava.com
