I have a relentless belief in people. An unwavering sense of wonder about the world and the humans in it who are filled with the power to create so much possibility. Because of this, my three greatest strengths are the ability to: see the skills and gifts people may not even know they possess; design and support learning that remembers that everyone is an individual; and get excited about anything. Coming from a community that didn't have a lot of the things we take for granted as being essential for success I know that people's circumstances can have profound and real limiting impact on them. I know how important it is to learn how to see and use your strengths to make change, and, because that hill looks different for different people, how crucial help with that can be. Big things come from small, intentional shifts. I get to apply that in the work that I do. As an instructional coach, I've worked with instructional leaders and educators for 6 years to bring joy and impact to their practices and their learners. I do this by guiding them to plan implementation, establish teacher coaching and professional development, and use data to make learning a priority for the students they serve. This involves: - helping them clearly envision the end goal and the measurable steps that will get them there - identifying their individual and contextual strengths as tools, and what obstacles they could plan for - helping them use data to replicate successes and learn from what doesn't work - supporting them in taking their communities along on the journey I develop, facilitate, co-plan, and evaluate professional development training and workshops for education and other development spaces that deliver changed performance and behavior for participants. Some of these have included: - skills workshops for educators - professional development workshops for school leaders - leadership workshops and communication 'educationals' for professional communities - curriculums and lessons for online learning for both adults and children I know that it's important to keep growing if I want to meaningfully support the people I work with, so I'm always following learning programs and workshops to build my skills. I appreciate my network of peers and mentors in the education space and beyond, and accept connection opportunities that allow me to engage with people from different generations who have diverse perspectives, passions, and beliefs. I know what it's like to feel stuck and it's part of my mission to make sure no-one ever does. So I have the best "job" in the world!
