In 2017, I had no idea where I wanted to go as a student. Today I help new grads maximize their ROI from school. My story had many similarities. I started my educational journey at the University of Waterloo in 2017 It wasn’t until 2018 that I started my co-op experience. I spent a lot of time in co-op, figuring out what I liked and didn’t like, desperately searching for the thing that would fuel a passion within me. Gaining experience through co-op in various roles was very valuable, but I still wasn’t sure where I wanted to plant my roots after University. I was lost, thinking - should I be: 💻 Digital Marketer 👩‍💼 HR professional 💬 Communications Specialist ❓or should I completely re-route and become a teacher? I knew I had the work ethic and drive to do something great - but spent countless hours wondering what that would be. It was in my 3rd year that I found my passion and calling to help other students identify careers that bring them fulfillment and growth. Fast-forward to 2022, I graduated from university 🎓 And took 4 months off to relax and reset - all with the promise to myself that I would find a job in the Fall. Once Summer ended, this was a challenge because I realized I wanted to pivot from my previous experience to something different (marketing → advising). By October, I started a job as a Graduate Coordinator at the University of Waterloo.
