About me

I am the Head of Software at Oivi, a medical devices startup currently focused on making early detection of diabetic retinopathy more accessible and affordable. I manage the SW department (8-15 people, covering firmware, backend, frontend, cloud and computer vision), working closely with upper management and the heads of other deparments to properly align company goals with development and improve cross-team collaboration. I also manage the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) portfolio. Before my current role, I was a Senior Applied Scientist for computer vision tasks for about 2 years. Prior to that, I spent about four and a half years at Aeolus Robotics, where I owned features from specification to delivery and coordinated across teams to ensure agile development. I also performed algorithm development and testing, as well as hardware-software integration, for robot perception, grasping, motion and reactive planning. I have also led tech demos for investors, as well as knowledge transfer workshops for other developers on how to work with the robots. Additionally, I have performed technology scouting duties at international robotic conferences. During my PhD studies I performed research on retinal image registration and modelling, and before that I worked as a software engineer in Scientific Games and Nokia Siemens Networks.
