Hi, I am Ankita. I am currently a Product Manager at Flipkart, one of India's largest e-commerce platforms. But my path to Product Management was not a straight line and that is exactly why this handbook exists.

Before PM, I worked in business and strategy roles. I have an MBA from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and completed my graduation from ITM University, Gwalior. On paper, the credentials were there. In reality, I felt completely lost when I decided to transition. The transition was hard. I had no mentor who could explain what Product Management is really about. I learned through trial and error, countless rejections, late-night practice sessions, and eventually landing my PM role at Flipkart. It did not have to be that hard.

That is why I wrote this. I wanted to give you what I never had: clear, honest, practical guidance from someone who has been exactly where you are right now. Every framework, every example, every piece of advice comes from real interview experiences, actual PM work at a large e-commerce company, and conversations with hiring managers.

This is the handbook I wish someone had handed me when I was starting out.
