About me

Hi, I’m Yogita — many of you may know me from my Instgram handle bretzel_and_biryani. My journey abroad began in 2015 when I moved to Germany for my Master’s, while my husband had moved there earlier in 2011. Over the next 11 years, we built a beautiful life in Germany — completing our higher education, working in the automotive industry with leading OEM, exploring Europe, and becoming parents. But through every milestone, one thing remained constant: we always knew we wanted to return to India someday. Because of that, our move back wasn’t impulsive — it was intentional and deeply planned. We spent nearly three years preparing for our relocation back to Pune, carefully researching and planning every aspect of the transition. This included: • Schooling and education board for our child, selecting school • Financial planning and investments • Housing and city selection • Career and work transitions • Family support systems and lifestyle adjustments • Emotional and cultural readjustment after years abroad Relocating back to India after a decade overseas is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. There are countless practical and emotional decisions involved, and having the right guidance can make the process much smoother. Through Topmate, I’d love to share my experience, research, and learnings to help you navigate your own relocation journey with more clarity and confidence. Whether you are just starting to consider moving back, actively planning your return, or feeling stuck between staying abroad and coming home — I’m here to help, just a video call away.
