About me

You just got handed a team, or you're three months in and the job is nothing like the one you thought you were taking. The 1:1 tomorrow with the person who's underperforming is sitting in your calendar like a small rock. Your skip-level wants a promo case you don't know how to build yet. Your old peers now report to you and the room feels different. Most "management advice" online is either generic frameworks or ex-FAANG war stories that don't map to the org you actually work in. What you want is a quiet hour with someone who's been in the chair, who will walk the specific conversation with you — not lecture you about it. That's what these sessions are. You bring one real, current situation — a hard 1:1, a promo packet, a reorg you're navigating, a peer conflict, a skip-level you're dreading — and we work it end to end in 60 minutes. We'll name what's actually happening, rehearse the exact words, anticipate where it goes sideways, and you leave with a plan you can execute tomorrow morning. I've run this motion inside my own org for years with new managers and senior ICs in transition; the paid version is just the same work, scoped and focused, for people outside my company. I'm a Senior Engineering Manager at Collins Aerospace with 20+ years in aerospace leadership across 33 years in the industry. I've led on programs like the Boeing 777X flight control computer (350+ engineers, $200M+) and the Bombardier C-Series and Global 7000/8000 FCC programs. Six US patents. In 2017 Collins gave me their "Be Extraordinary" Award specifically for facilitating crucial conversations — which is most of what coaching actually is. If you're a new EM or transitioning IC inside a big, regulated, high-stakes org and you've been looking for a voice that isn't Silicon Valley pep, that's the slot I'm built for. Views are my own. I do not coach on Collins-specific matters, active programs, or proprietary information.
