I have been curious about exploring different industries & roles, learning and in making a meaningful contribution in each of them. I have worked in the following sectors : Chemicals, Financial Services, Business Process Outsourcing, Telecom, Electronics, Retail, Education & Not-for-profits. The roles that I held during the course of my career have been diverse : Production, Projects, Sourcing, Business Development, Six Sigma Quality, Business Transformation, SAP Implementation, Sustainability & CSR. I have conceptualized & led initiatives at scale, and leveraged my analytical & execution skills to achieve impact. I have formed & led teams, mentored & coached team members, trained large numbers of people within the organizations that I worked in, and worked with stakeholders at all levels to ensure that the initiatives were embedded into the organizations’ cultures. My multi-industry & cross-functional experience allows me to view opportunities for companies to become more operationally excellent, competitive & customer-centric through Process Improvement & Digitization from unique perspectives; and to apply learnings gained in one industry or situation to another. I view the various Sustainability related challenges & solutions from the perspective of Systems, Processes, Technology, & Scale; apart from the traditional lenses through which they are seen. My expertise lies in designing processes & systems and scaling them up significantly. I was among the first 10 individuals across GE Capital globally to be Certified as Master Black Belt, & was recognized with the Chairman's Award at Aditya Birla Group as an Exceptional Contributor. In addition, I have been featured in the book "100 Managers in Action" authored by T.V Rao & Charu Sharma. I am passionate about preservation of the environment & mental health. All of these correlate well with my Clifton 34 signature strengths : Deliberative, Learner, Achiever, Focus, & Significance. I have volunteered with WWF India, the Gururaj-Deshpande Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at IIT Madras, Poddar Foundation, been an Assessor for the Sustainability Awards instituted by CII, & was an Expert Contributor to the Sangam 2019 report on “Reimagining India in 2030” released by the IIT Madras Alumni Association. I am putting together a course integrating Climate Change, Environmental Protection, & Social Equity using the principles of Systems Thinking & based on my experience.
