About me
I’m a research scientist working at the intersection of applied mechanics, advanced manufacturing, materials science, and computational modeling. My research focuses on the computational and experimental mechanics of FRP composites, nanocomposites, and architected multifunctional composites—enabling smarter, tougher, and more resilient material systems.
🧩 Core Expertise:
🧱 Polymer‐Matrix & Architected Nanocomposites: Engineered hierarchical toughening strategies using electrospun nanofiber interleaves and CNT masterbatches to significantly improve interlaminar fracture toughness while enabling integrated sensing and multifunctionality.
🪓 Fracture & Interface Mechanics: Investigated fiber–matrix interface crystallinity and developed analytical and computational methods for Mode I/II delamination and toughening mechanisms in layered composites.
🌊 Permeability & Flow Modeling: Conducted benchmark CFD and image-based modeling studies to simulate resin flow and permeability measurement in fibrous reinforcements and TPMS lattice structures for bioimplants.
🧪 Cure Monitoring: Developed multi-channel systems to track cure status in real time, detecting transitions like gelation and vitrification during manufacturing. Holder of international patents for embedded cure monitoring in thermoset composites, nanocomposites, and cement-based concrete structures.
📡 Structural Health Monitoring (SHM): Designed CNT-based self-sensing composites and piezoresistive interleaves for a real-time damage tracking and monitoring system. Employed SHM to detect delamination, fatigue, and other in-service defects.

🎓 PhD in Multifunctional Composites: Completed at Skoltech under the guidance of Prof. Sergey Abaimov (Skoltech) and Prof. Stepan Lomov (KU Leuven).
