About me
I have a Masters degree in Computer Science but decided to move into the HR space very early on in my career. Technology amazes and intrigues me day in & out, which I combine with my passion for HR.
I started my HR journey by being a part of the Talent hunt team. Connecting talent to opportunities is not as simple as it seems. It is easier to attract talent when one is connected with a "brand" but I was lucky in not being part of a brand. It helped me understand the space, mindset and values of individuals we were hiring. It helped me understand how important it was to hire & map talent w.r.t the Goals, Values, Behavior & Culture of the org & individuals.
Interestingly I attended an interview at a reputed MNC & the person asks me - how many people did you hire in the last year? I was amazed to see how a person with a decade experience is worried about the sheer volume & not the "quality" of the hire.
I have also had the opportunity to work with firms on consulting assignments ranging from behavior analysis to individual performance development modules.
But hey, was I satisfied? While I was involved in HR activities, the tech bug in me wanted to engage in HR & tech and develop something phenomenal. I co-founded a startup which was involved in mapping talent to opportunities on a need-basis which had all the HR modules served on a platter.
PS: I am no longer a part of the amazing journey of co-founding a startup.
My key areas of interest:
1. Talent Advisory - understanding the organisations talent needs (mapping the right talent based on behaviour/culture/value fitment)
2. Individual Performance Development modules - keeping in mind the digital era & the millennial mindset, I would strive to align the organisation talent needs with the learning needs of individuals.
3. Brainstorm & work on new HR-tech ideas which would help in better Talent Management
Hit me up if you would like to brainstorm on quirky ideas or believe in revolutionising the HR space!
