As hard as it can be to create safety for trauma survivors, Madhulika did that seamlessly for all of us. I have been able to talk about stuff that I had trouble verbalising by myself. She has not only created a support group but also gave us a sense of belonging, a sense of relatability and friendship. I got a platform to discuss things from my trauma that helped me to process it further and others as well hopefully. I can’t thank Madhulika enough for this initiative.
Hello!
I am Madhulika, a therapist with around 7 years of formal education in general psychology with a specialisation in applied and clinical psychology. I have worked in various psychiatric settings over the past 4 years, including a psychiatric OPD, psychiatric residential hospital, content writing for destigmatising and spreading mental health awareness, and crisis intervention.
Additionally, I have trained with multiple organisations such as The Psy-K Life, Therapeers, The Mind Point, and The Academy of Therapy Wisdom.
I am currently operating my own mental health page on Instagram under my brand Choosing Insight Therapy, and also facilitating support groups for survivors of sexual assault.
I also provide therapy under supervision, and my approach is trauma-informed, person-centred, and I use an intersectional feminist lens with a focus on self, identity and agency in my work. I borrow from narrative practices and believe that a person is the master of their own lives and they know themselves best. I am present primarily to provide support and help with self-exploration such that the discovery of the self leads to clarity, resilience and knowledge of oneself that optimises functioning and self-efficacy.
The best things come from growth and growth is most impactfully accessible in the exploration of the self.
